birthday suit

shades: house of harlow in "bloom" // chambray shirt: gap // skirt & orange cuff: joefresh // shoes: badgley mischka (similar) // bracelets: omyheart  // clutch: the bay (similar / loving) // lips: joefresh "melon"

Firstly - Happy Birthday to my fashion partner in crime @suz_hali (look away i have nude nails)! This was my birthday suit for her big outing on Saturday night!

Secondly - I have to draw your attention to how well my pile of omyheart little guys pair with this cuff! check out more omyheart good-ness here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/omyheartkate

And lastly - I thought that this post speaks so well to some of the articles I have been loving lately coming out of IFB regarding fashion blogging and personal finance.

Given that I am, by trade, a self proclaimed finance nerd this topic really interests me. Most of the items in this look come from either local artists who usually sell for reasonable prices or from joe fresh who always have such current pieces for reeeaaaallly good prices. Quotes from various fashion icons float around daily on pinterest / tumblr etc.  Did you ever notice that many of them focus on the difference between style & fashion? I am a firm believer in this mantra and really believe that one should invest in key pieces such as handbags, shoes and the classics like a trench / a good leather jacket etc BUT that you do not have to spend tons of your hard earned money on your wardrobe to look not only good but stand-out stylish.  If you have a great eye and a unique perspective you can rock anything, regardless of the price tag.
